Fox and Dana saved some money on this case compared to their first outing. I am going to call this Deep Throat, since they are approached by an informant by this name. Apparently Fox and Dana want to investigate 6 pilots who’ve gone missing from Ellen’s Air Base in Southeast Idaho. Basically Dana and Fox attempt to investigate the disappearance of these pilots focusing on the disappearance of Robert Budahas.
For reasons I will touch upon, they focus their efforts on the appearance of “UFO’s” even after Robert Budahas arrives back to his home.
Fox and Dana leave Idaho without a second thought or mention of the other 5 missing pilots from the base. It is frustrating to see that Dana and Fox close this case when further investigation is clearly warranted.
Let me start off with a list of places Dana mentions in her report that are fabricated. Also listed are the locations I used in their places.
Ellen’s Air Force Base -> Mountain Home Air Base
Mariette field Airport -> Boise International Airport
Flying Saucer Diner -> AJ’s Restaurant
Beach Grove Motel -> Highlander Motel
Fox initially proposes this case to Dana at a bar in DC which I must say is highly unprofessional.
8/16/93: Monday. There is a confirmed flight to Idaho stated in the report to be to Mariette Field Airport which DOES NOT EXIST. I inferred this to be Boise Idaho Airport which would cost $303 for Fox and Dana. They then rent a car, a 1992 Cutlass Ciera which would be a mid-size rental priced at $79 / day in that area of Idaho.

Dana had purchased a map of the area ($4.00). The necessity of this map is questionable since Fox has a hand drawn map he brought along and seems to have knowledge of the area.

They speak with Robert Budahas’ wife regarding his disappearance; the Boise Idaho Regional Field Office deemed the case not worth investigating. This makes perfect sense since it turns out Robert Budahas was simply in the Air Base hospital the whole time.
Dana and fox visit another pilot who was once missing but recently came home. What’s interesting here is Dana explains to Fox that this pilot is suffering from stereotypy; a psychological condition. Fox has a doctorate in psychology from Oxford; why Dana is able to observe this when Fox can’t makes me question these credentials.
Fox and Dana go to the Flying Saucer Diner where Fox purchases a $20 picture of a triangle claimed to be a UFO.

9:13PM: Fox and dana trespass onto the air base which Section 1382 Title 18 imposes $500 fine and possible 6 months imprisonment. Since Fox does not go to prison later, we can assume he is fined $500. While the rental car is parked on the base the rear window shatters. The following day, this window is repaired according to Dana’s report. A replacement window would cost $399. Fox’s sole purpose for coming out here is to see UFO’s which have nothing to do with the disappearance of Robert Budahas.
Fox also takes photos while on the base despite signage explicitly stating photography is not permitted.

Fox and Dana befriend two teenage stoners on the site and take them to dinner where they purchase these guys
2 burgers w/ soda & fries and 2 milkshakes (prices from AJ’s restaurant)
- $11.49/burger + fries + Soda
- $3.85/milkshake
Which cost a total of $31.68

8/17/93: Tuesday: I am assuming these teenagers stayed the night at the same motel as Dana and Fox. I charged the couple for 1 room at $61 for the night.
Colonel Budahas is back at home, so now would be a great time for Dana and Fox to investigate the other 5 missing pilots, but they don’t!
Instead they are intercepted by base security while traveling from the Budahas home back to their motel.
These guys confiscate 1 roll of film ($9.94) as well as their gun magazines (2 x $39.99). I am surprised this is all they confiscated because of their flagrant disregard for the rules of the base and the fact that photography is forbidden.

If Fox and Dana are done with their investigation anything from here on out in my mind should be deducted from their paychecks. It angers me that these expenses are covered by taxpayers like you and me.
These agents attempt to call the base on the hotel phone. 3 confirmed calls, 2 lasting at least 45 minutes. (~$2.12/call + 0.10/min) at a total of $7.26.
Fox leaves Dana at the hotel and takes their rental car. He picks up his two teenage stoner friends and trespasses again onto the air base. There is conveniently a hole in the fence that Fox and Friends “find”. I assume after the investigation the FBI would pay for this section of fence (I have no doubt Fox is to blame for this vandalism) which would cost around $210.

8/18/93: Wednesday. Another night’s stay at the hotel would cost $61 for each agent. And to think one of these rooms is empty because Fox ran off to the base.
Meanwhile, Dana attempts to find Mulder and a means of transportation when base security pays her a visit. According to Dana’s report, she “felt threatened” by this security agent and instead of working with him to determine what happened to Fox on the base, she breaks into his car and steals his gun. This man must break the passenger window of his own car ($299.00) to talk Dana down.
While Dana claims she held this man at gunpoint for her safety, I wonder if she did this as a matter of convenience since she didn’t have a car to get back to the base. The FBI has a history of compensating civilians $500 for the use of their vehicle, so I’ve added this to the bill.
This man drives Dana to the base (at gunpoint) in his vehicle where they find Fox. Instead of thanking this man, Dana drops this man off at the base and brings Fox back to their hotel in this man’s car.
My head is spinning! This man could easily have filed charges against Dana for kidnapping and armed robbery! And to think these agents, again, had no repercussions for their actions! Where is their boss throughout all of this?! Are there any checks and balances or perhaps an approval process in place for their expenses?!
When all is said and done, the total bill for this case is $3409.90. I want my money back!
One week later Dana files her report claiming the case is closed. I guess they don’t care about those 5 other missing pilots.

I want my money back!

America needs more patriots like you to expose the truth!!! I don’t care these costs go back almost 30 years, there’s no statute of limitations on the deep state! Stealing some poor guy’s car? Hotel and food for stoners? Did this Fox Mulder buy them drugs too? They were all high so of course they saw UFOs! Keep up the good work, my friend- don’t let them stick a tracking chip up your nose and call it a COVID test!
